City of Port Lincoln owns and maintains the North Shields Cemetery on Lincoln Highway and the Happy Valley Cemetery on Bernard Place, Port Lincoln.
The Happy Valley Cemetery consists of four sections with the cemetery on both sides of Bernard Place.

New interment rights are issued at time of burial or interment or when applying for a pre-paid burial reservation. New burials or interments at the North Shields Cemetery are allocated in the next available site determined by Council's curator.
For new burials or interments a person who is authorised to exercise the Interment Right (lease) must complete and sign the Interment Application - Burial Authority 16-16-T2 form and Interment Right Statement 16-16-T16 and forward to Council with the fees payable as set out in Council's Fees and Charges Schedule either by:

Council offers pre-paid burials in the headstone section only and next available site at the time of reservation is allocated. It is recommended that you speak with a funeral director in the first instance.
To arrange a pre-paid burial you will need to complete and forward the Pre-paid Burial Reservation and Interment Right 16-16-T3 form to Council either by:

Applicants will be invoiced and a certificate will be issued after Council has received payment. Fees payable are set out in Council's Fees and Charges Schedule.
If you would like to arrange a headstone or plaque for your loved one you will need to complete the North Shields Garden Cemetery - Application for Permit to Erect a Headstone or Additional Inscription 16-71-T3 or Application Permit for Cremation Memorial 16-71-T2 and forward to Council with the fees payable as set out in Council's Fees and Charges Schedule either by:

Once the Memorial or Plaque application has been approved installations of Headstones and Plaques must be undertaken by a registered monumental mason, or plaques only can be installed by Council's curator.
There are no new interment rights being issued at the Happy Valley Cemetery as the cemetery is at capacity. New burials and interments are restricted to existing interment rights only.

If the holder of an Interment Right is deceased the Interment Right may be transferred by submitting the Transfer of Interment Right - Authorised Person 16-16-T13 and Interment Right 16-16-T17 forms with a certified copy of the Will of the deceased.
